Maria Skakun (b. 1987) is an artist, performer and art therapist. Lives in Paris.

Works are in private collections in Belarus, USA, Poland, Germany, Russia, India, Sri Lanka, Lithuania, Ukraine, France.
Participant of international exhibitions.

Since childhood, she has been drawing and studying fine arts, but since 2019, painting has become her main occupation.
She graduated from the Institute of Modern Knowledge named after A.M. Shirokov, Faculty of Arts, Design of a virtual environment (2012), Minsk State College of Architecture and Civil Engineering, specialty engineer-architect (2007), Minsk State Gymnasium-College of Arts (2003).

Maria talks about her art:
“My painting can be attributed to expressive abstract art.
Through art, I explore the self-identification of a person, physicality and the experience of emotions.
I am inspired by immersion in the creative process. So is nature, people, psychology, music and the world of the unconscious.
It is important for me to immerse the viewer through painting in one state or another.
Favorite genre - nude, portrait, abstraction.
I paint in oils, acrylics and watercolors. Experimenting with different tools to achieve artistic expression of the concept. Exploring performance in my art".
