Mr Brainwash

Thierry Guetta (born 1966), best known by his moniker Mr. Brainwash, is a French-born Los Angeles–based street artist.

Mr. Brainwash uses various well-known images for his works - drawings, paintings, photographs and changes them in the most creative and unprincipled way. As a result, the original changes its essence and its meaning so much that it becomes a completely new object of art, which is 100% different from the original.

Mr. Brainpower's first exhibition took place in Los Angeles in 2008. His popularity after that became so enormous that already in 2009 he worked on the design of Madonna’s new album called Celebration. Brainwash designed artwork for Michael Jackson's "Xscape". Michael Jackson was a longtime friend of Thierry's and was one of the first people to purchase art from him.

The second exhibition took place in New York in 2010. At one of the exhibitions, several works were sold at exorbitant prices. For example, a portrait of Jim Morrison was sold for 100 thousand dollars. At subsequent auctions, paintings depicting Charlie Chaplin, Kate Moss, and Albert Einstein were also sold for $50,000, $67,000 and $120,000, respectively.
