Alphonse Mucha
Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939) – a painter and decorative artist. He studied at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts and worked as a decorative painter in Moravia, mostly paintings theatrical scenery. He moved to Paris in 1887, and continued his studies at Académie Julian. In 1890, the artists had his first one-man show in Paris, with 448 works on display. Between 1904-1921, Mucha traveled frequently to the U.S. he took commissions and taught art at academies in New York and Chicago.
