Stepan Aleksandrovsky (1842-1906) - painter, academician of portrait and watercolor painting.

He received his artistic education at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. While visiting the academy, he was awarded in 1861 a small silver medal for a portrait painted from himself.
Appearing with his works at academic exhibitions, he consistently received the title of non-class artist (in 1864), class artist of the II degree (in 1868), class artist of the I degree (in 1869), academician (in 1874), and finally, honorary free associate of the Academy ( in 1884).
Aleksandrovsky was one of the founders of the Society of Russian Watercolorists and was an active member of it.
