The series "Parallel Worlds" is dedicated to the exploration of personal experiences of childhood traumas that initiated the process of dissociation.
Dissociation is characterized by the separation of body and consciousness.
The figure in this work represents the perception of myself during a dissociative episode. In order to accurately convey the visual image of the body, I use personal photographs. The photograph is placed in a closed mirrored spherical space. Then I transfer the image of the deformed body onto canvas. This method is used to deform the form within a limited space.
The main focus of my work is on the impossibility of interaction between the body and the outside world.

"The concept of my works is based on personal experience of surviving childhood traumas. Traumas became the cause of many unconscious defense mechanisms of the psyche. One of them, called "dissociation", I am trying to rethink in this series of works. Dissociation means separation, in which the body stores experiences and actions separated from awareness.
Flashes of fragments from the past, which were once forgotten and repressed from memory, provoke these attacks. They immerse me in an altered state, in which I painfully experience a distortion of the surrounding world, losing my own "I", losing touch with reality and control over the body.
The figures on my canvases are a representation of the reflection of the sensation of my body. They are observed by me as autonomous entities of another world, with which dialogue is impossible. This is how I try to become noticed.
The aim of the exhibition is not only an attempt to gain conscious control over the body and a desire to remove the stigmatization of mental disorders in society, but also to ask the question: is it possible to achieve psychophysical unity during dissociative states?
Will these parallel worlds intersect?"
