Claude Weisbuch
Claude Weisbuch (1927–2014) was a renowned French painter, engraver and lithographer celebrated for his vigorous, expressive line and dynamic depiction of movement. A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts de Nancy, he gained recognition in the 1960s with solo exhibitions in leading galleries across France, Belgium, Germany, and the United States.
His works are part of major public collections, including the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris, the Bibliothèque nationale de France, and the Musée de Grenoble, as well as numerous private collections worldwide.
Weisbuch’s art has been presented at international fairs and regularly appears at leading auctions such as Sotheby’s, Christie’s, and Artcurial. In 1961, he was awarded the Prix de la Critique in Paris, establishing his position among the foremost figures of postwar French printmaking. Published by Éditions Vision Nouvelle, Weisbuch remains celebrated for his ability to capture human energy, theatre, and emotion through fluid, spontaneous linework.
