Painting my landscapes in an expressionist manner, without using a brush, but instead by pouring paint from containers to create stains in monochromatic tones, gives me a profound sense of freedom. It is a freedom that offers no certainty—it is like a passage from vulnerability to life itself. This is the central aim of my work: to paint in order to express this question. If we truly desire freedom, we must first ask ourselves whether we are willing to be vulnerable to all of life’s provocations.
Through the speed and movement of the flowing paint, and the dialogue between black and white or subtle ranges of blue, I explore stillness and motion, weightlessness and space. My search is for strength and expressiveness, without relying on tricks or artifices, but instead speaking honestly through the act of painting itself.
Although I embrace the possibility of combining abstraction and figuration, I build my artistic practice upon the phenomena of nature, seeking harmony in light and shadow. Above all, I consider matter to be the essential element—suddenly freed from the weight of representation, it acquires a new density and autonomy. By allowing the textured reliefs of the paint to exist on their own, I pursue the discovery of new pictorial spaces.
