Adalet Kara (1950-2025) was a painter and visual artist whose artistic career developed across Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Sweden and Türkiye.

He studied fine arts in Baku and later continued his artistic education in Kyiv and Lviv, developing his practice in painting as well as other fields of visual art. During his years in the Soviet Union, Kara participated in numerous exhibitions and art events. In 1979, he received the Grand Prize at the “Red Autumn” painting competition in Lviv.

Throughout his career, Kara took part in solo and group exhibitions in different countries. His work ranged from abstraction and figurative compositions to still life and architectural subjects, characterized by strong color contrasts, layered surfaces, expressive brushwork and rhythmic composition.

From 1998 to 2021, Kara continued his artistic practice and exhibition activities in Istanbul, producing and presenting works from different periods of his career. In the following years, he continued his artistic activities in Baku.

Kara was a member of the UNESCO Artist Union and participated in international art projects and exhibitions. His works are held in private collections in Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Europe, the United States and other countries.

Adalet Kara passed away in November 2025. His artistic archive, including works from different periods of his career, is currently being documented and digitized by his family.
