Saul-Hait Charles
Charles Saul-Hait (born in 1943, Haiti).
He met renowned Haitian painter Wilson Bigaud who, in 1963, introduced him to the Centre d’Art where he worked for about four years. Around 1967, Charles had to leave Port-au-Prince to care for his siblings following the death of his mother. He worked as a farmer during this time to keep his family alive. His works can be found in a handful of texts on Haitian art, including, but not limited to; “Haitian Painting” by Eva Pataki and “Haiti Voodoo Kingdom to Modern Riviera” by John Allen Franciscus.
