Paul Derathé is a professional painter, who signed his paintings "Paul DERATHEZ", originally from Lille (northern France), moved to French Guiana and married to a Guyanese woman. He used to live in Guyana from 1967 to 1977. This original painting was done during that period.
Paul Derathé was a professor of Visual Arts at the Marchoux high school in Cayenne.
Some of his paintings are still exhibited at the Musée Franconie in Cayenne.
