Ellsworth Kelly (1923–2015) was an American artist and sculptor, one of the main representatives of minimalism, hard edge and color field painting.

Many of his paintings consist of a single (usually bright) color, some of the canvases are irregularly shaped, sometimes called "figured canvases." The quality of the lines in his paintings and in the form of his figured canvases is very fine and implies perfection.
