Vincent Van Gogh, a fiery and unique artist, only worked for 10 years, but these years were exceptionally productive and intense. Notably, the last four years of his life laid the foundation of his incredible legacy, making him one of the most recognizable artists worldwide.

Van Gogh created his works from his soul, his worldview. His painting and his literature, found in his letters to his brother Theo, are inseparable from each other. Each of his paintings was accompanied by a sort of essay in which he delved into the meanings and motives of his art.

Van Gogh had a unique, inimitable attitude towards the world, painting, and color. Color for him was an activity of influence, he cared about color tone like nothing else. His unique pictorial-coloristic language was structured by brushstroke, making his works truly unique.

The stroke became not just a way of applying paint to canvas, it became a plot, an impression, a brush movement. This combination of movement with a stroke created a powerful sensation of life, rampant in each of his paintings.

One of Van Gogh’s key tasks as an artist was to describe the smallest nuances of his feelings, excitement, evoked by life, nature, communication. He sought to convey his impressions of the world in the most emotional and expressive way.
