Tilda Lovi
Tilda Lovi, a multi-disciplinary sculptor, was born in Nantes.
After studying foreign languages and comparative literature, she trained with master sculptors in Paris, Berlin and Kyiv, before devoting herself fully to art. From sculpture (modelling, direct carving on marble, bronze and concrete) to drawing (Indian ink, mixed media), engraving, lithography, ceramics and photography, she is passionate about a wide range of artistic practices.
Early in her career, Tilda took part in the restoration of the sculptures in the Cour Carrée of the Louvre in 1984. Since then, she has taken part in solo and group exhibitions in museums, cultural centers and galleries in France and abroad. In 2013, she presented a major retrospective entitled Là d'où je viens... at the Institut français de Russie. Some of her works are held by the French Embassy in Moscow. Others are in private collections in Europe and the United States.
Tilda also came to the attention of Rhodia Bourdelle, daughter of the sculptor Antoine Bourdelle, who supported her entry for the Prix de Rome and several related exhibitions. In 1989, she won the sculpture prize at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rouen. Tilda also received support that she will always remember: that of Michel Dauberville, a great sculpture collector and gallery owner (Bernheim-Jeune Gallery, Paris).
