"After graduating from art school, I did not connect my life closely and seriously with my artistic passion. I was captivated and attracted by Architecture! Academic architectural education formed the basis of my view of life and creativity, gave an impetus to a conscious perception of myself and the phenomena happening around me. I had MY own opinion and it was a huge discovery! Five years of academic drawing at the university honed my skills as a draughtsman. Even then, there was a graphic style of its own.
The desire to draw has always been present! But I clearly felt that I could not yet find the right way to express my state, experiences, and emotions in a meaningful and graphic way. More detailed...
A new serious creative breakthrough occurred in 2017. Being in a strong emotional crisis, I created about 40 paintings in a short period of time. For days on end, I sat in a makeshift workshop with cardboard and my hands covered in paint. Without stopping, I drew myself-the reflection in the mirror was my object.
Hard and heavy graphic lines with colored acrylic, jagged contours, eye-cutting combination of colors and constrained, broken poses, no compositional rules. "Pain, aggression, struggle, fear" is the message that the viewer reads in the works of this period.
Every year, the message of the works and their style change with me. Now my work is more about freedom and enjoying yourself and your surroundings. Having gone through my own path of therapy through the image of myself, I can do similar things.
