Shevandronova Irina

Irina Shevandronova (1928 - 1993) - Soviet painter.

She was born in 1928 in Moscow.
At the end of the war, in 1943, having successfully passed the entrance exams, she entered the Moscow Secondary Art School. Among the teachers of the school was the famous Soviet artist Pochitalov, Vasily Vasilyevich. Graduated from the V.I.Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute in 1953. Even before graduating from the institute, she participated in exhibitions, starting in 1951.

The artist's diploma work was the painting "Children in the Rural Library", which became one of the best genre works of Soviet painting of the 50s. But then, in 1953, Irina Shevandronova could not even imagine that the Tretyakov Gallery would immediately acquire the painting, and that it would be reproduced in the Native Speech textbooks for many decades.

The children's theme will become a distinctive feature of Shevandronova's work, which allowed her to take a special place in Russian art.

Irina Shevandronova's works are kept in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum and more than 20 museums in Russia.
