Fattakhov Rustem
Rustem Fattakhov is a Tatarstan artist of the second half of the twentieth century, one of the representatives of the generation of "unofficial" Kazan art, a member of the Union of Artists of Tatarstan.
He graduated from the Kazan Art School, but he learned the main thing himself, being fond of old masters and drawing inspiration from his surroundings. The most characteristic of his paintings of the 1990s-2000s, the warm landscapes of old Kazan, which has almost disappeared altogether, and the whimsically colorful life of the "underground" bohemia, painted in the spirit of carnivalism.
R. Fattakhov is a multi-faceted artist, experimenter. If his "Kazan theme" is more or less familiar to the viewer, then the original "duffel paintings", which are treated with all justice to the art of assemblage, are not. The logic of the artist assumed the synthesis of old and disparate material (old binding, washing board, pieces of fabric) with the usual artistic colors, while masterfully creating something new and meaningful. It is as if the artist takes a raw phenomenon – raises it to abstraction.
