Bernard Buffet
Bernard Buffet (1928-1999) was an Expressionist painter and printmaker.
By 1948, he had his first one-man exhibition and received the Prix de la Critique. In the 1950s, he was considered the principal figurative artist in Paris, and during this period, the “misérabilisme” movement influenced him. His work appears in many major museums, including the Tate Gallery in London and the Musée d’Art Moderne in Paris.
