Tikhomirov Leonid

Leonid Tikhomirov (1926 - 2016) - Honored Artist of Russia, member of the International Academy of Art.

School passion for drawing led the future master to the art department of the Moscow Textile School. Graduated from the art faculty of VGIK (1952).
Since the mid-1960s, he began to paint together with his wife. Since 1952, Tikhomirov has become a regular participant in international exhibitions. The most significant of them (personal and joint) take place in 1979, 1980-1981, 1988, 1990, 1994, 1997, 1998, 2000 in Moscow, Japan (Tokyo and Sapporo), Paris, London, Oman, Cyprus, Southern California, Berlin , Bratislava, Malta.
In his work, Leonid Tikhomirov inherits the traditions of classical Russian painting. The artist's favorite genres are landscape and portrait. Throughout his life, he consciously writes works only from life.
Tikhomirov's works are presented in many museums, including the State Tretyakov Gallery.
Paintings by Leonid Tikhomirov were repeatedly sold at auctions in London in the 90s and 00s.
