Grositskiy Andrey

Andrey Grositsky (1934-2017) – a contemporary artist whose work is genetically linked to non-conformism. Today he is perceived as one of the leading authors who worked in line with the conceptualization of pictorial plasticity. Grositsky is usually mentioned among the founders of Russian "pop art".
Graduated from the Art Institute named after V.I.Surikov (1959). In 1968 he entered the Moscow Union of Artists.
His style and position was formed in the 1960s among artists of “other art”, the Moscow underground, such as Ilya Kabakov, Erik Bulatov, Ivan Chuikov, Boris Turetsky, Yuri Zlotnikov.
His works are in a number of public collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and a number of regional museums in Russia.
