I am a former 1970s art student. Later I studied Interior Design at London Guildhall University and made a successful career in Interior design with my own company. I work in painting—primarily acrylic on canvas—focusing on concentrated colour fields, circular structures, and textured surfaces.

My current work presents luminous cores framed by cooler, gestural perimeters, conveying the tension between concentrated energy and peripheral motion. I am excited by the way colour relationships and directional marks can produce both stillness and momentum, and by how geometric motifs intersect with improvisational gestures. Sources range from solar and geological forms to the pulse of improvised music and the weathering of urban surfaces; these inform a vocabulary of radiance, abrasion, and rhythm.

I build paintings through layering: translucent glazes, scraped passages, incised lines, and sometimes added fragments of paper or pigment. Circular moves set a central pulse while surrounding marks redirect and destabilize it. I alternate deliberate brushwork with rapid, accidental interventions so that order and disruption coexist within the same field.
